Tranquility

David Tedeyev is a promising digital artist, who builds the iconography of his works combining the images of ancient and classical culture with the monuments of modernity. In his dynamic digital works, space explorers fight with a bust of Julius Caesar, examine a sculpture by Michelangelo, and marble statues master skateboarding, either in protest against the relics of the past, or demonstrating the continuity of ideas and motifs.

“Tranquility”, created specially for the WOW Summit 2022 exhibition, depicts the near future, when technology took over the world and the minds of the people. A monk in a Japanese garden, immersed in deep meditation, is an image of the human mind, directed inward and free from the technological outside world. Is he a warrior? Or an outcast that runs from a new reality?
